Head of Quality Assurance (QA)

Overview

Introduction This role is based in the UK. Fnality is building a payments network using distributed ledger technology to enable tokenised, peer-to-peer markets, with a focus on fast, safe, and transparent settlement. Fnality Services provides an efficient common platform for settlement operations across Fnality Payment Systems (FnPS).

Fnality is looking for a Head of Quality Assurance (QA) (who must be from a payments background) who can demonstrate competencies to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for designing, leading, documenting, scheduling, and coordinating test scenarios, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to deliver robust and appropriate tests.
  • Bringing together various colleagues and teams to deliver against testing outcomes.
  • Writing the scripts required to run tests.
  • Leading on full end-to-end lifecycle of testing including business testing, product testing and operational testing.
  • Defining, developing, and performing acceptance tests as part of the route to live (functional & non-functional tests) on software received from technology vendors.
  • Testing regular updates and releases across several environments including SIT, Pre-Production, and Production, including end-to-end testing and stress testing.
  • Running Fedwire Participant testing including Federal Reserve System upgrades at regular intervals in line with stated requirements.
  • Conducting SWIFT testing within MX environments.
  • Carrying out business process tests such as disaster recovery and business continuity, including backup and recovery validation.
Role Competencies Required
  • Highly experienced at running enterprise testing suites and enterprise-level operations (change management, incident management, regulatory requirements and environments, enterprise/wholesale payments, etc).
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks using scripting languages (e.g., Python or Java).
  • Understanding of business-driven development (BDD) and Gherkin.
  • Understanding of key technical areas (blockchain products, blockchain wallets, regulated and systemically important payment systems).
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management, especially with external parties and regulators, to build confidence in Fnality.
  • Experience working with customers (Tier 1 Banks, Central Banks such as the BOE and UK Regulators, ECB and EU Regulators, FED and US Regulators) on operational support issues and ensuring 24x7 availability of platforms.
  • Excellent understanding of payments and settlement in traditional financial infrastructure.
  • Understanding of how High Value payment systems work and CBPR+ for cross-border payments.
  • Experience in application performance monitoring and event management.
  • Competence in data, statistical and trend analysis.
  • Working knowledge of tools required to monitor and manage a payment system.
  • Understanding of how a payment system operates under stress and market conditions that drive behaviors.
  • Understanding of how cyclical events impact volumes such as Month/Quarter End Settlement.
