Robotics and Production Engineer

Working on next-generation autonomous driving technology, you will help transform advanced robotics software from research-grade code into production-ready automotive libraries.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and writing high-quality C++ software that meets the standards required for deployment in production vehicle platforms.

Working closely with robotics and software engineering teams, you will evaluate existing algorithms and libraries, improve their quality and maintainability, and ensure they meet the rigorous standards expected of production automotive software.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and productionise high-performance C++ robotics libraries for automotive systems.
- Support localisation, odometry and state estimation software for next-generation autonomous vehicle programmes.
- Refactor research and prototype code into robust, production-ready software.
- Evaluate existing algorithms and determine whether they should be reused, redesigned, wrapped or replaced.
- Improve software robustness, scalability, maintainability and testability.
- Design clean, modular APIs and reusable software components.
- Implement comprehensive testing and documentation to support long-term maintainability.
- Work with robotics libraries supporting localisation, calibration, sensor fusion and vehicle positioning.
- Ensure software aligns with automotive engineering best practices and production coding standards.
- Contribute towards compliance with automotive coding guidelines, including MISRA-style principles where appropriate.
- Strong commercial C++ software engineering experience.
- Proven experience building production-quality software libraries rather than research prototypes.
- Experience within automotive, robotics, autonomous systems or another safety-critical engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, modular library design and API development.
- Experience productionising complex algorithms and engineering codebases.
- Knowledge of localisation, odometry, sensor fusion, calibration or state estimation systems.
- Strong understanding of software quality, testing, maintainability and deployment best practices.
- Experience working within structured software engineering environments with high standards of code quality and compliance.
- Ability to quickly understand complex robotics algorithms and translate them into production-ready software.
