Workday R2R Lead

We are seeking an experienced Workday Record-to-Report (R2R) Lead Consultant to join a major Workday Financials transformation programme. This is a key role within the Finance workstream, responsible for leading the design, configuration, and deployment of the Workday Financials R2R solution, ensuring alignment with business requirements, best practice processes, and programme objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance leadership, business stakeholders, implementation partners, and other Workday functional leads to drive the successful delivery of the Record-to-Report workstream from design through to go-live and hypercare.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Workday Record-to-Report (R2R) Lead Consultant to join a major Workday Financials transformation programme. This is a key role within the Finance workstream, responsible for leading the design, configuration, and deployment of the Workday Financials R2R solution, ensuring alignment with business requirements, best practice processes, and programme objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance leadership, business stakeholders, implementation partners, and other Workday functional leads to drive the successful delivery of the Record-to-Report workstream from design through to go-live and hypercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Workday Financials Record-to-Report (R2R) workstream.
- Facilitate workshops and gather business requirements from Finance stakeholders.
- Design scalable and efficient Workday Financials solutions aligned to business needs and industry best practice.
- Configure and support key R2R functionality including:
- General Ledger
- Accounting Centre
- Financial Accounting
- Journals
- Period Close
- Consolidations
- Financial Reporting
- Allocations
- Business Asset Management (where applicable)
- Provide functional leadership across solution design, testing, training, cutover, and deployment activities.
- Support data conversion, integrations, security, and reporting activities impacting the R2R workstream.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide expert guidance on Workday capabilities and limitations.
- Support UAT, defect management, and go-live readiness activities.
- Mentor junior consultants and provide functional leadership across the programme.
- Extensive experience delivering Workday Financials implementations.
- Proven experience as an R2R Lead, Finance Lead, or Senior Workday Financials Consultant.
- Strong understanding of finance processes including:
- General Ledger
- Financial Close
- Consolidation
- Financial Reporting
- Compliance and Controls
- Experience working across full project life cycles, including design, build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Ability to engage confidently with Finance Directors, Controllers, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within complex enterprise environments.
- Current Workday Financials certification strongly preferred.
- Candidates who are not currently certified must be willing to obtain Workday certification immediately upon joining the programme (subject to employer sponsorship and eligibility).
- Workday Accounting Center experience.
- Multi-company, global deployment experience.
- Experience with financial reporting and Prism Analytics.
- Previous consulting or system integrator background.
- Experience working on large-scale Finance transformation programmes.
