Data Analyst – Mortgage Industry

I’m working with a forward-thinking mortgage lender that’s entering an exciting new phase of growth. They’re building a modern proposition with long-term products and fresh ideas, backed by the stability of an established financial services group. This is a chance to join at a pivotal stage and genuinely shape how the business evolves.

This role reports directly into senior leadership and sits at the heart of the business, giving you exposure across multiple teams. It’s a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who wants to combine technical expertise with commercial impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking ownership of portfolio and data flow, ensuring smooth delivery to both internal and external parties
  • Enhancing Business Intelligence through SQL and Python development
  • Turning data into insight by building and maintaining dashboards (QuickSight or similar)
  • Working with stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
  • Reviewing and validating technical content across communications and regulatory documents
  • Providing modelling and quantitative support for projects and initiatives
  • Using research and analysis to improve products, processes, and lending criteria

What we’re looking for

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a data or analytics role
  • A strong academic background, ideally in maths, statistics, or computer science
  • Solid SQL skills (essential)
  • Hands-on experience with BI/dashboards such as Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Analytical mindset with strong numeracy and problem-solving ability
  • Someone organised, detail-focused, and motivated to deliver
  • A confident communicator who can build relationships across the business
  • Familiarity with mortgages or financial services would be useful but not essential

This is very much a role for someone who wants to make their mark in a smaller, ambitious business where your work will be noticed. You’ll be part of a collaborative team and get exposure to both the technical and commercial sides of the mortgage industry.

What’s on offer

  • Competitive base salary (dependent on experience)
  • 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private medical cover
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Annual learning and development allowance
  • Regular team socials
  • Hybrid working: 4 days office, 1 day remote

If you’re motivated by the idea of helping to shape a growing lender and want the chance to combine technical skills with real-world business impact, this is a great opportunity.
