Job Title: Workday Platform Lead
Location: North East England (Hybrid – ideally 2-3 days in-office per week however, more flexibility may be available)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 Base Salary plus circa 10% bonus and benefits
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workday Platform Owner to take ownership of the enterprise-wide Workday system. This is a pivotal role responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and optimisation of the Workday platform, encompassing HCM, Financials, and Adaptive Planning.
The role will be based in the North East, operating on a hybrid working model.
As a Workday Platform Owner, you will work closely with key stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT, and other business units to ensure Workday delivers maximum value, seamless functionality, and aligns with evolving organisational needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Platform Ownership & Governance
- Serve as the primary owner and point of accountability for the Workday platform across HCM, Financials, and Adaptive Planning.
- Drive strategic roadmaps, platform upgrades, and new module implementations.
- Ensure platform governance, data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Workday operations and resolve platform issues.
- Optimise system configurations, integrations, and business processes.
- Partner with vendors, including Workday, to manage support tickets, releases, and enhancements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as a liaison between business users, technical teams, and external providers.
- Provide platform training, promote adoption, and communicate system changes and benefits.
- Translate business needs into system solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Continuous Improvement & ROI Optimisation
- Champion the continuous improvement and automation of Workday-related processes.
- Analyse system usage and performance to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost-saving.
- Measure and report on Workday’s ROI and effectiveness across functional areas.
- Proven experience owning or leading a Workday platform (ideally across HCM, Financials, and Adaptive Planning).
- Strong understanding of system configuration, business process design, and integration management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Demonstrable project management and change management capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with experience in ROI measurement and business value tracking.
- Workday certifications (HCM, Financials, Adaptive Planning, or related).
- Experience working in a hybrid corporate environment.
- Knowledge of related systems or tools (e.g., payroll systems, integration platforms, reporting tools).
