A leading global analytics and data solutions consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of enterprise-level data and analytics solutions within the banking and financial services sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and commercially minded Business Analyst to work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, helping organisations transform the way they manage and use their data.

You will play a key role in implementing Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solutions, working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions.

The role is based in Milton Keynes, with occasional travel to client sites.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in delivering strategic data initiatives across areas such as:

Key Responsibilities Business & Data Analysis
  • Gather and analyse business and technical requirements through workshops, stakeholder interviews, process reviews, and documentation analysis
  • Translate requirements into clear functional and technical specifications
  • Develop use cases, process flows, and business scenarios
Data Management & Governance
  • Define data warehouse attribute sources and transformation rules
  • Create data dictionaries, business glossaries, and source-to-target mappings
  • Develop business rules for data integration, quality monitoring, and governance
Process Improvement
  • Document As-Is and To-Be processes
  • Perform gap analysis against industry frameworks and best practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve data management processes and controls
Data Analysis & Quality
  • Analyse source data structures and assess data quality and integrity
  • Identify inconsistencies and recommend improvements
  • Interpret trends in data and support data-driven decision making
Project Delivery
  • Support project managers in planning, scoping, and prioritisation
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and data engineers
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide guidance and direction to offshore teams
  • Share knowledge across project teams
  • Support innovation and continuous improvement within the delivery environment
Experience & Skills

We are looking for candidates who bring strong data, consulting, and stakeholder engagement experience.

Essential Experience
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Business or Data Analyst
  • Experience delivering projects within data management or analytics environments
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working with SQL and data warehouse environments
  • Excellent documentation and analytical skills
Highly Desirable
  • Consulting experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Experience leading or collaborating with offshore teams
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • Data Integration
  • Business Intelligence
  • Data Quality
  • Cloud Platforms
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Big Data Technologies
  • Data Governance
  • Data Modelling
Additional Knowledge
  • Experience working across both business and IT functions
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in business terms
  • Experience developing business cases and recommendations
  • Knowledge of investment banking, trade, or risk domains would be advantageous
