IT System Engineer

Force Recruitment has partnered with an agile and innovative global pharmaceutical leader with multiple sites across Ireland to hire an IT Systems Engineer on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is based fully on-site in Bray and is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Capacity Management of the infrastructure, including extension of the farm (scaling), expanding the Citrix user community by adding new applications and desktop images
• Set-up and follow-up of the monitoring of the infrastructure
• Ensure 1st/2nd level support (advanced troubleshooting) of the Citrix- and server-related products managed in the squad.
• Proactive platform maintenance (Citrix update implementation)
• Comprehensive platform monitoring and alerting – platform availability & performance, end user session experience
• Scheduled management reporting, Power BI reports covering logon duration, session latency/reliability, and platform performance metrics.
• Testing and implementation of new Citrix features
• Escalating and managing support cases with Citrix and using Citrix support tools such as CIS
• Application and Desktop virtualisation
• Escalating and managing support cases with Citrix and using Citrix support tools such as CIS
• Utilising monitoring and reporting tools, including Citrix Studio, Director, and ADM
• Providing consultancy on projects (Multi Factor Authentication, Printing, Cloud migration, application consolidation) and being able to support farms hosted on cloud providers (AWS)
• Working with a variety of hardware, software, and applications to provide a prompt, friendly and professional technical service to business users in relation to systems, including system administration, documentation, and resolving complex server and related issues.
• Planning and installation of new virtual servers, managing image templates, automating processes by using scripts, monitoring system uptime, ensuring high availability, and maintaining all Data Centre and internally hosted computer systems.
• Undertaking all functions relating to the installation, configuration, and operation of the hosting infrastructure
• Identifying system configuration and/or performance irregularities.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Citrix CCA/CCA-V or equivalent certifications required.
• Strong experience in the implementation and support of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop (CVAD) 7.15/1912 LTSR, Citrix DaaS, Citrix Workspace App configurations, Citrix Storefront, Citrix License Server
• Good working knowledge of Citrix WEM and Microsoft FSLogix services
• Strong proficiency in configuring and supporting Citrix MCS and PVS technologies.
• Experience with support of Citrix ADC (NetScaler) appliances, including knowledge of Citrix ADM
• Experience with Citrix and Windows RDS services.
• Good working knowledge of Citrix Printing, ICA Client Management and deployments
• Exposure to Citrix Cloud and AWS services would be required.
• Infrastructure automation and shell scripting skills – desirable
• Good knowledge of enterprise-scale VMware environments, management of host VMs in a SAN-based, clustered, HA environment and familiarity with enterprise storage technologies
• Good working experience with Active Directory and Group Policy, DFS (File Sharing services)
• Windows Remote Desktop Services Infrastructure (RDS) hosts and license server knowledge
• Experience with PKI Infrastructures, server certificates, and certificate authorities.
• Infrastructure automation and shell scripting skills desired (PowerShell and/or other)
• Microsoft Certification MCSA/MCSE Windows Server 2012 or above preferred
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and services preferred.

Additional:

• Please note this role is a full-time 12-month contract based fully on-site in Bray, Ireland.
• This role pays 60 – 65 euros per hour.
