Senior Consultant - Solution Architect
Salary - Up to £75,000
Hybrid | Bristol
We're working with a growing consultancy that partners with organisations on complex technology and digital transformation challenges. They're building out their architecture practice and are looking for a Senior Consultant Solution Architect with strong Azure experience to join the team.
This is a role for someone with a solid technical foundation who wants to develop their architectural skills in a client-facing environment. You'll work across the full project lifecycle, contribute to proposals and mentor graduate colleagues along the way. Work with a variety of clients with strong input into how solutions are designed and delivered.
Responsibilities as a Senior Consultant Solution Architect:
• Define end-to-end solution architectures that meet functional and non-functional requirements, producing design documentation, diagrams, and architecture decision records
• Apply TOGAF principles and the Architecture Development Method to produce consistent architecture artefacts across application, data, integration, and infrastructure domains
• Design and recommend Azure cloud solutions, selecting appropriate services and patterns based on workload and business requirements
• Engage with client stakeholders to understand business drivers and constraints, facilitating workshops, discovery sessions, and design reviews
• Communicate architecture options and trade-off analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, governance policies, and relevant compliance requirements
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams throughout delivery
• Embed security-by-design principles, including identity, access management, and data protection
• Identify and manage technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal capability development
Requirements:
• TOGAF certification with applied experience across architecture domains
• Proven experience designing and delivering digital solutions aligned to TOGAF's Architecture Development Method
• Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, serverless, and hybrid patterns
• Strong understanding of secure system design, including encryption, authentication, and risk management
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Good understanding of governance frameworks and compliance standards
• Desirable: GDS or public sector experience, cloud architecture certifications, ITIL or COBIT, microservices and API design experience
