Overview of the Chief Growth Officer

Are you ready to take your career to the next level?

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially astute Chief Growth Officer (CGO) to lead and accelerate the next phase of business growth. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing the growth strategy, expanding into new markets, and scaling products and services through innovative commercial approaches.

This is not your typical CGO role, the successful candidate will be comfortable personally driving strategic partnerships, expanding senior-level relationships, and work closely with CEO to ensure growth strategy aligns with overall business objectives. You will be nurturing and growing 20-year-old (and more) relationships and leading on new partnership opportunities.

This is a pivotal role to join the senior leaders within an organisation and play a key role in the business’s growth and development in this new chapter. It will require a blend of strategic thinking, market insight, and hands-on business development, with the ability to translate vision into tangible growth.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Market Expansion

  • Define and lead the overall growth strategy across key markets and sectors working with the CEO
  • Define growth processes, governance, and success metrics, shaping how growth is planned, executed, and measured
  • Work closely with leadership to ensure growth strategy aligns with overall business objectives and PE expectations
  • Identify and prioritise new market opportunities, including geographic expansion
  • Develop and execute strategies to scale products and services effectively
  • Translate market trends and insights into actionable commercial initiatives

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Own and drive revenue growth across the business
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of high-quality opportunities
  • Lead strategic bids, partnerships, and complex deal negotiations
  • Support and enable senior stakeholders to convert opportunities into revenue

Partnerships & Ecosystem Development

  • Identify and establish a diverse range of strategic partnerships
  • Develop innovative routes to market through alliances and collaborations
  • Leverage partnerships to expand capability, reach, and commercial impact

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small, high-performing commercial team
  • Provide direction and support to senior commercial roles, including Practice Leads, Bid Lead etc
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
  • Align commercial activity across the business to a clear growth agenda

Market Positioning & Thought Leadership

  • Act as a visible and credible voice in the market
  • Contribute to and shape the organisation’s thought leadership agenda
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and client forums
  • Enhance brand presence and reputation through insight-led engagement

Key Requirements

Experience

  • Proven track record in a senior commercial or growth leadership role
  • Background in services and/or technology-led environments highly desirable
  • Demonstrated success in scaling businesses, entering new markets, and driving revenue growth
  • Private Equity exposure highly beneficial, with an understanding of value creation, scale, and disciplined execution
  • Experience developing and executing partnership strategies
  • Exposure to infrastructure or regulated sectors is advantageous
