A unique opportunity has opened for a Senior Systems Lead to join a fast-growing multi-channel food production and retail business in Somerset. This role sits at the heart of the organisation’s operational transformation, responsible for modernising and integrating core commerce systems across ERP, warehouse operations and digital commerce platforms.

You’ll play a critical player–coach role, leading a small technical team while designing and delivering the architecture that enables scalable, efficient operations.

The Role

As Senior Systems Lead, you will take ownership of the operating architecture across key platforms including Sage ERP, warehouse management systems, and B2B commerce tools.

Working closely with operations, finance and commercial teams, you will replace manual workflows with integrated solutions, establish robust data governance, and drive system-led operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own the end-to-end operating architecture across ERP, warehouse and commerce systems
• Lead optimisation and workflow transformation within Sage ERP
• Deliver reliable system integrations between ERP and Warehouse Management Systems
• Establish product master data governance across commerce platforms
• Improve warehouse execution through digital pick/pack processes, layout optimisation and standardised workflows
• Lead the development and iteration of a custom wholesale/B2B ordering portal
• Implement a scalable data structure and reporting layer to eliminate manual reporting
• Manage and mentor a small team including a Process Engineer, Systems Project Manager and Developer
• Drive adoption of new systems and ensure operational change is embedded across the business

• Creating a single source of truth for operational data across ERP, warehouse and commerce systems

• Delivering robust ERP ↔ WMS integrations

What We’re Looking For

• Engineering degree (industrial, systems, mechanical, manufacturing or similar)
• Proven experience transforming ERP environments and integrating ERP + WMS systems
• Strong ability to remove manual processes and replace them with scalable systems
• Comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives and getting hands-on technically
• Experience with SQL and BI tools
• Strong stakeholder engagement across operations, finance and commercial teams
