We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a growing architecture team within a retail environment, leading the design and delivery of technology solutions across finance and back-office domains.

This role will play a key part in shaping scalable, secure, and integrated architectures that support critical business functions including Finance, HR, and Compliance. The successful candidate will bridge business strategy and technical execution, helping improve operational efficiency, financial control, and enterprise-wide data visibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and key business stakeholders to translate requirements and business challenges into effective technology solutions

• Design end-to-end solution architectures across finance and back-office platforms

• Own Technical Design Authority submissions from creation through to approval

• Contribute to architecture forums, helping define architecture strategy, standards, and principles

• Produce and maintain technical documentation in line with architecture governance standards

• Provide architectural oversight and governance across projects and programmes

• Evaluate and recommend technology platforms, vendors, and tools through structured assessment processes

• Support integration strategy across enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, and event-driven approaches

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Strong Solution Architecture experience within complex enterprise environments

• Software/Applications solutions architecture focus

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience managing third-party suppliers and technology partners

• Strong integration architecture experience, including APIs, middleware, and event-driven architecture

• Experience designing cloud-based solutions, primarily within AWS environments

Desirable

• Previous experience within retail and/or supply chain organisations

• Experience working with finance and back-office systems

• Exposure to HR, compliance, or enterprise operational platforms
