Data Engineer
Senior Consulting Engineer - Forward Deployed
London | Hybrid / client-site as needed | Active SC clearance required
I’m supporting a fast-growing data and AI consultancy, founded by ex-Palantir engineers, as they build out a team of SC-cleared Consulting Engineers across data, software and client-facing delivery.
This is not a traditional data engineering role. It sits across data engineering, software engineering and technical consulting, working directly with clients across public sector, defence and national security.
You’ll be helping organisations make sense of complex data, build practical workflows and applications, and turn technical ideas into tools that genuinely get used.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working across Python, SQL, PySpark and modern data tooling
- Building data pipelines, workflows and user-facing applications
- Working directly with clients to understand problems and shape solutions
- Translating complex technical work into clear demos and stakeholder updates
- Using Palantir Foundry/AIP where relevant, although previous Palantir experience is not essential
- Contributing to internal product ideas and reusable engineering assets
What they’re looking for:
- Strong experience in data engineering, software engineering or technical consulting
- Good hands-on ability with Python, SQL and data workflows
- Exposure to PySpark, Spark, ETL, data platforms or application development
- Comfortable working with clients, users and non-technical stakeholders
- SC clearance, active.
- Experience in defence, national security, public sector or other complex environments would be highly relevant
- Palantir Foundry, Gotham or AIP experience would be a strong advantage, but is not required
This would suit someone who enjoys solving messy problems, working close to the user and building things quickly rather than sitting far away from the outcome.
