The business has a global footprint with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia. The company operates primarily in-office and expects most employees to be onsite five days per week, with pragmatic flexibility for personal commitments when needed.
About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work in small, high-impact teams delivering end-to-end technical execution on mission-critical projects. You will act as the bridge between advanced intelligence platforms and real-world operational environments. You’ll deploy and integrate autonomy software, operating systems, and tooling into complex customer platforms, often in demanding environments. The role spans software engineering, system deployment, hardware integration, and solution architecture.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and operationalise advanced autonomy platforms in defence and government environments, from contractor sites to forward operating locations
- Solve diverse technical challenges across software, OS configuration, deployment, and hardware integration
- Integrate customer systems with proprietary platforms to deliver measurable operational value
- Build scalable delivery approaches for customer engagements
- Design architectures that improve repeatability and reliability across programmes
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer stakeholders
- Own technical delivery end-to-end, adapting to evolving requirements
Qualifications
- Strong engineering background (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or similar)
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Broad technical depth across software, operating systems, and hardware-adjacent environments
- Experience integrating and deploying complex systems
- Strong independent problem-solving ability in ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication and customer-facing capability
- Track record of driving successful technical engagements
- Professional references describing you as low-ego, motivated, thoughtful, and collaborative
Required Skills
- Willingness to travel between offices and customer locations as required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with government or defence customers
- Systems architecture and scalable solution design experience
- Background in defence, robotics, automotive, autonomy, or adjacent sectors
