Civil Project Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Project Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of civil engineering and construction projects. This role focuses on coordinating teams, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered safely and in compliance with UK regulations. The ideal candidate brings early project management experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver civil engineering projects within scope, budget, and timelines
- Support project scheduling, resource allocation, and cost management
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders across project phases
- Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with design, safety, and quality standards
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare project reports, documentation, and progress updates
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations, including health & safety standards
- Support procurement and contract administration activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in civil engineering or construction project coordination/management
- Basic understanding of project management principles and construction practices
- Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Mandatory Certification (at least one):
- PRINCE2 Foundation / Practitioner
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Working towards or holding membership with Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or similar
- Familiarity with UK construction regulations (e.g., CDM Regulations)
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract management
- Exposure to infrastructure, highways, or residential/commercial construction projects
