Computer Science Teacher
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Computing / Computer Science (ICT) Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality instruction. This role focuses on developing students’ understanding of computing principles, programming, and digital literacy. The ideal candidate brings strong subject knowledge, effective teaching skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons in computing, computer science, and ICT
- Teach topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, and digital systems
- Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards
- Support students’ academic progress and provide constructive feedback
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students with different learning styles
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
- Integrate technology and practical activities into lessons
- Monitor and report on student performance and development
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent certification)
- Strong knowledge of computing concepts and programming fundamentals
- Experience teaching ICT or computer science (school or training environment)
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for education and student development
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scratch
- Familiarity with national or international curricula (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, IB, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of emerging technologies (AI, cybersecurity, data science)
- Experience with e-learning platforms and digital teaching tools
- Additional certifications in teaching or technology-related fields
