Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join a growing team in Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, producing actionable insights, and supporting business decision-making across multiple departments.
This role is ideal for a data professional who is comfortable working with stakeholders, presenting findings clearly, and translating data into meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insights
- Collect, clean, and analyse structured and unstructured datasets
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to support business decisions
- Deliver actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity
Reporting & Visualisation
- Develop and maintain dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
- Produce regular and ad-hoc reports for senior stakeholders
- Translate complex data findings into clear, understandable insights
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business and technical teams to understand data requirements
- Support departments with data-driven recommendations
- Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Data Governance & Best Practices
- Follow data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Maintain documentation for datasets, reports, and processes
- Support continuous improvement of data analysis processes
Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)
- 1–4+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar role
- Strong experience with:
- SQL for data extraction and analysis
- Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables)
- Data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Solid understanding of:
- Data analysis methodologies
- Data quality and validation practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred / Advantageous Skills
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS – advantage)
- Experience working in Agile or cross-functional environments
- Exposure to data warehousing or ETL processes
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Data Analytics
- Computer Science
- IT
- Mathematics
- Or a related field
- Relevant certifications (advantage):
- Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst
- Google Data Analytics
- IBM Data Analyst or equivalent
