Desktop Support Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide first-line technical assistance to end users. This entry-level role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring a smooth user experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications
  • Support user account management using Active Directory
  • Log and manage incidents through ticketing systems in line with SLAs
  • Assist with system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues and resolutions
  • Escalate complex issues to senior support teams

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 0–1 year of experience in IT support or help desk roles (internships included)
  • Basic understanding of Windows/macOS operating systems
  • Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and IT support processes
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft 365
  • Exposure to endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune)
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation)
  • Customer service experience
