Desktop Support Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide first-line technical assistance to end users. This entry-level role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring a smooth user experience. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications
- Support user account management using Active Directory
- Log and manage incidents through ticketing systems in line with SLAs
- Assist with system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues and resolutions
- Escalate complex issues to senior support teams
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
- 0–1 year of experience in IT support or help desk roles (internships included)
- Basic understanding of Windows/macOS operating systems
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and IT support processes
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft 365
- Exposure to endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune)
- Relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation)
- Customer service experience
