This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join at a pivotal moment. Over the next 18–24 months, the business is delivering a major digital transformation, moving away from traditional batch ETL processes and towards a real‐time, streaming-first architecture.

They’re looking for a Data Engineer who enjoys building scalable, cloud-native platforms and working in data‐heavy, high‐volume environments.

Why It’s Worth a Chat

  • Joining at a genuinely exciting transformation stage
  • Salary from 45K-65K DOE
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in Manchester city centre
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Income protection (up to 5 years) & life assurance (3x salary)
  • Health cash plan, virtual GP & therapy access
  • Gym discounts, cycle to work scheme, free food, Friday bar & more

The Role:

As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping and scaling the data platform, working closely with analytics and wider engineering teams. You’ll be involved in:

  • Building and managing cloud-based data pipelines in an AWS-heavy environment
  • Working with data lakes, RDS and Matillion
  • Integrating new data sources and transforming raw data for analytics and reporting teams
  • Supporting the transition from batch ETL to real-time streaming architecture
  • Ensuring scalability and performance across large, complex datasets

What They’re Looking For:

They’re keen to speak with engineers who have:

  • Strong data engineering experience in a cloud environment
  • AWS experience preferred (Data Lakes, RDS, Matillion), but Azure engineers with prior AWS exposure are absolutely encouraged to apply
  • Excellent SQL / T-SQL skills
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL / ELT pipelines
  • Exposure to batch ETL, real-time streaming, or ideally both
  • Experience supporting analytics teams, including working with tools like Tableau and/or Power BI

If you’re a Data Engineer looking for a role with modern tech, genuine progression and a long-term platform rebuild, this one is well worth a conversation.
