Senior Data Engineer – Warrington (Hybrid)
(Power BI, Azure, Python & SQL)
We’re working with a well‐established business that’s continuing to invest heavily in its data function and is now looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer. This role is focused on building reliable, scalable data solutions that support reporting, analytics and future AI use cases across the business.
You’ll be joining a strong data team, working closely with stakeholders to deliver high‐quality data pipelines and Power BI reporting. While the immediate focus is on Azure Data Engineering, there’s a genuine opportunity to get hands‐on with Microsoft Fabric as the data platform continues to modernise.
This is a senior, hands‐on role where you’ll influence technical decisions, shape best practice and act as a trusted engineer within the business.

The role
- Designing, building and maintaining robust data pipelines, including API integrations
- Transforming and modelling data to support reporting and analytics across the business
- Developing and maintaining Power BI reports and semantic models used day‐to‐day by stakeholders
- Working closely with senior and non‐technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions
- Ensuring data quality, performance and reliability across pipelines and reports
- Collaborating with other engineers, analysts and BI developers to improve data standards and ways of working
- Playing a key part in the ongoing modernisation of the data platform, with increasing exposure to Microsoft Fabric
Key skills & experience
- Strong experience as a Data Engineer, building data pipelines, integrations and transformations
- Azure
- Hands‐on Power BI experience
- Strong Python and SQL
- Good understanding of data modelling and best practice
- Confident, clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
