Duration: April 2026 – January 2027 The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Software Development Instructor to deliver block training for the Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship programme.

Learners are midway through their apprenticeship, with structured delivery blocks scheduled across the remainder of the programme. Delivery will be a blend of:

• Minimum 2 days per week onsite in Stockport
• 3 days per week online delivery

This is an excellent opportunity for a trainer who enjoys working with apprentices and is confident both delivering and developing technical training content.

Delivery Schedule

Training blocks are scheduled for:

• April 2026
• June 2026
• August 2026
• November 2026
• January 2027

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Level 4 Software Developer standards
• Deliver blended learning (face-to-face and remote sessions)
• Develop and refine training materials for upcoming delivery blocks
• Support apprentices' technical understanding and practical development
• Prepare learners for successful completion of programme requirements

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience delivering Software Development training (commercial or apprenticeship setting)
• Experience working with apprentices or early-career learners
• Strong knowledge of core software development principles and practices
• Ability to develop and structure technical training content
• Confident classroom and virtual delivery skills

Desirable

• Experience delivering Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship
• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, Level 3 AET or above)
• Industry experience as a Software Developer

Location Requirement

Candidates must be able to commute to Stockport for onsite delivery (minimum 2 days per week during block delivery).
