NIGHT SHIFT ROLE!

Desktop Engineer | £40,000 - £45,000 | Fully Remote | MSP | Night Shifts (7pm-7am)

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working closely with customers, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of IT environments across cloud and on-premises platforms.

You'll act as a senior technical escalation point, supporting critical incidents, driving service improvements, and helping deliver infrastructure projects. The position offers significant exposure to Microsoft Azure, virtualisation, modern endpoint management, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a senior technical escalation point for incidents and service requests.
  • Managing complex infrastructure issues through investigation, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Taking ownership of high-priority incidents from initial assessment through to successful resolution.
  • Performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions to recurring issues.
  • Reviewing, planning, and implementing infrastructure changes across customer environments.
  • Supporting project delivery activities, including migrations, deployments, and service improvements.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base content.
  • Working closely with service desk and project teams to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer environments and service delivery.
  • Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent communication and technical expertise.

Technical Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • MSP experience is ESSENTIAL!
  • 4+ years' experience in a senior support, infrastructure, or client services role.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure administration experience.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and identity management.
  • Microsoft Exchange Online administration experience.
  • Microsoft Intune and endpoint management experience.
  • Understanding of Conditional Access and modern security controls.
  • VMware virtualisation experience.
  • Storage, backup, and infrastructure management knowledge.
  • Experience with change management processes and technical governance.

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator certification (AZ-104) or equivalent practical experience.
  • VMware certification or advanced VMware administration experience.
  • Experience with infrastructure projects, migrations, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to security best practices and compliance frameworks.
