Desktop Engineer | £40,000 - £45,000 | Fully Remote | MSP | Sat-Mon (7am-7pm)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer seeking a condensed working week while maintaining exposure to modern cloud technologies and enterprise infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical escalation point for incidents, service requests, and infrastructure issues.
• Investigate and resolve complex problems across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Take ownership of major incidents, coordinating resolution activities and ensuring effective communication throughout.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions to reduce repeat issues.
• Review, plan, and implement technical changes within customer environments.
• Collaborate with project and engineering teams to support deployments, migrations, and service improvements.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across service delivery and technical operations.
• Assist colleagues with technical mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Identify opportunities to enhance customer environments through improved technology, security, or operational practices.

Technical Skills & Experience

Essential:

• 4+ years' experience in a senior support, infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration and support.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Active Directory administration and identity management.
• Microsoft Exchange Online and/or on-premises Exchange.
• Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions.
• Conditional Access and modern Microsoft security technologies.
• VMware virtualisation platforms.
• Storage infrastructure and SAN technologies.
• Experience managing infrastructure changes and technical governance processes.

Desirable:

• Microsoft Azure Administrator certification (AZ-104) or equivalent practical experience.
• VMware certification or advanced VMware administration experience.
• Experience supporting infrastructure projects, migrations, and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity technologies.
