Salary: £50,000 - £70,000

About the Role:

An award winning IT Managed Service Provider are looking for an IT Infrastructure Consultant to join the team. You will be dedicated full-time to supporting a major Data Centre client. You will play a crucial, hands-on role in delivering robust IT solutions, responding to dynamic client needs, and implementing critical projects.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about Networking, Infrastructure, Virtualisation, and IT Support—who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves solving problems, and enjoys getting hands-on with cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver infrastructure implementation projects—such as server upgrades, network expansions, and virtualization deployments.
  • Support and maintain network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, routers, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Manage and support virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders and internal teams to ensure service excellence.
  • Maintain documentation for all systems and project work.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and client outcomes.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and advise the client on best practices and improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure consulting or engineering roles.
  • Strong background in networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi technologies).
  • Solid understanding and administration of virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and backup solutions.
  • Project delivery experience in infrastructure implementations and migrations.
  • Broad IT support background across hardware, software, and cloud environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, be highly responsive, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and a "get-things-done" mindset.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
