Infrastructure Engineer | £40,000 - £45,000 | Fully Remote | Tech Company

Are you an infrastructure specialist who thrives in complex, security-focused environments? Our client is looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen a growing internal IT function that supports global operations, modern cloud platforms, and mission-critical systems.

In this role, you'll take ownership of core infrastructure services across Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, servers, storage, monitoring and disaster recovery. You'll be the go-to expert ensuring platforms are resilient, secure and engineered for scale.

What You'll Be Doing

Microsoft 365 & Identity

  • Lead the full Microsoft 365 ecosystem: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, compliance tooling and information governance
  • Manage Intune for device enrolment, configuration profiles, app deployment and baselines
  • Maintain Conditional Access policies, hybrid identity processes and system integrations

Endpoint Management & Security

  • Ensure endpoints meet security baselines for patching, malware protection and configuration hardening
  • Monitor and remediate endpoint alerts, vulnerabilities and antivirus events
  • Support backup, disaster recovery and continuity processes

Operational Assurance

  • Continuously monitor performance, availability and capacity across infrastructure and cloud services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical incidents in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain clear documentation, runbooks and operational procedures

Infrastructure Design & Delivery

  • Architect, implement and optimise Azure services aligned with operational and security requirements
  • Maintain and enhance Windows and Linux server estates, virtualisation platforms and hybrid cloud setups
  • Ensure stable, performant networks across routing, switching, firewalls and remote access

Key Skills

Essential

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure
  • Strong Azure administration and hybrid identity knowledge
  • Deep experience with Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune and Conditional Access
  • Skilled in Windows Server, virtualisation and networking
  • Solid understanding of patching, endpoint protection and hardening
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with clear documentation practices

Desirable

  • Experience in software or SaaS environments
  • Awareness of cybersecurity frameworks and controls
  • Familiarity with backup platforms, monitoring tools or ITSM practices
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AZ-104, MS-102, CCNA)
