Server Engineer (IT) / Contractor

Our client is looking for a Server Engineer to join their team on a six month initial contract, working three days a week onsite in Crewe and two days working remotely. This role would be working via umbrella.

Role Description

• Use of Hyper-V with client's standard build processes
• Good experience and understanding of Windows Clustering
• Good experience in configuring Network Load Balancers
• Knowledge if CIS hardening implemented using GPO
• Knowledge Active Directory and Certificate Authority
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operations
• Automate server provisioning and configuration using tools like PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions including BMR
• Monitor server performance and availability using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or equivalent client tool
• Maintain documentation for systems architecture, processes, and procedures
• Storage Knowledge advantageous
• Status reporting to senior stakeholders
