Product Test Engineer (Electronics)

Job Description

Product Test Engineer (electronics) As a Product Test Engineer, you'll demonstrate a range of professional electronics skills such as debug, working on high reliability electronics products, work to component level and the highest standards to deliver products to our customers. This role is a blend of electronic test engineering supporting manufacturing production projects.

You will be qualified in an Electronics subject at degree, post-graduate or HND (or equivalent) levels. You'll be knowledgeable in the field of electronics and have experience either working in a defence and/or military environment. Experience in an electronics or electronics-manufacturing company testing & fault-finding electronic assemblies to component level, fault finding, presenting data and showing expertise in these areas is ideal for the role.

ResponsibilitiesLife cycle ownership for test costs and efficiencyContinually improve existing test solutions through yield analysis, test time reduction, faster diagnostic process etc. Drive through corrective actions to improve efficiencies & product qualitySpecify top level test requirements for new products and introduce them into production efficientlySupport production in high level of diagnosticsTechnical advancement / mentorship of diagnostic technicians & engineers.

Enhance customer stewardship, by providing effective solutions to problems and future demandsProvide input to design authorities for successful DFM/DFT implementationProvide input to business capture team for bid and proposal purposesActive team memberSkills and ExperienceMinimum of HND/Degree in electronics related subject, preferably in Electronic EngineeringSignificant experience in a functional test engineering role either within a high reliability manufacturing facility, preferably in defence/military or semiconductor industry.

Strong knowledge of electronics over a wide range of technologiesAnalytical engineer who can process data efficiently to provide solutions to problems and communicate the outcomes at all levelsGood team player who is willing to take ownership of problems and participate fully in team activities.

High level diagnostic experience over a wide range of technologiesCan demonstrate contribution to specific improvements in test efficienciesConfident, self starter who is willing to encourage improvement & challenge the status quoProven technical presentation skillsDesirableAbility to communicate at all levels across a range of disciplinesHas specified top level production requirements for NPISpecification and communication of DFM / DFT principlesExperience of various test platforms / operating systemsHas an understanding of ESSUnderstands the principles of 6 Sigma and Lean ManufacturingKnowledge and experience of SAP and Shopfloor data collection systems
