Job Description
Senior Test Engineer (eDV): Gloucester, Manchester or London You'll be joining an experienced software dev function, working as a Senior Test Engineer within the team, ensuring the quality of software in our many business areas, with a focus on National Security projects.Due to the nature of work on National Security projects, this will be an office-based role, working out of one of 3 key locations in either Gloucestershire, Manchester or London. Due to the nature of work and Government clients, you will need to hold the highest level UK Security Clearance to eDV (enhanced DV) UK Security Clearance.The Role:Apply test skills and experience within the context of an Agile software delivery teamResponsible for the creation and maintenance of automated test frameworksDefine and manage test environments; create and manage test data; define and manage test toolsSupport estimation of test activitiesSupport test team interactions with the wider development team and assist in the resolution of issuesContribute to the production of test documents using appropriate tools as requiredRaise defects and support the wider development team in their resolutionManage creation of automated and manual test scriptsProduce test and deployment strategies and plans in compliance with customer project guidelinesSkills and Experience:Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps delivery modelExperience of deploying and configuring complex software under Linux/WindowsExperience producing test plans and reports using applicable toolsUnderstanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and demonstrable evidence of relevant test methodologies and toolsetsDesirable:AWS and/or AzureExperience of test automation frameworks and tools.Experience of scripting languages and scripting for automation.Continuous IntegrationLinux system administrationExperience of deploying and configuring complex software under Linux/WindowsAbility to review and apply different tools and techniques e.g. monitoring, logging, performance testingWe appreciate you may not be an expert in every area above - we can support with training and development in some areas!
