Field Deployment Engineer (6 mth FTC) | Field Based, UK-Wide
Contract: Full time, Fixed term contract (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: £40k - £45k DOE

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading name in medical diagnostics for a Field Deployment Engineer to join their Service team on a fixed-term contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on IT support professional to step into a fast-paced, nationwide technology refresh programme, supporting critical diagnostic equipment used in laboratories and hospitals across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing
- Rolling out Windows OS upgrades, security patches, and system reimaging across customer sites nationwide
- Replacing and commissioning IT hardware, from workstations to specialist Instrument Processing Units (IPUs)
- Installing, configuring and validating analyser-specific software on critical diagnostic equipment
- Managing data backup, migration and restoration to ensure zero disruption during upgrades
- Working closely with Field Service Engineers, Technical Support and Product Management to deliver seamless, on-schedule deployments
- Representing our client professionally on-site, building strong relationships with laboratory staff and customers
What Our Client Is Looking For:
Essential:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in 1st & 2nd Line IT Support or a similar technical role
- Hands-on experience with OS deployment, imaging, configuration and troubleshooting
- Confidence installing, replacing and commissioning PC hardware
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, connectivity troubleshooting)
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with customers on-site
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
Desirable:
- A qualification in IT, Computing, Electronics or Engineering
- Experience with Microsoft endpoint management and OS lifecycle tools
- Experience supporting medical devices, lab automation or diagnostics equipment
- Background in data migration and restoration projects
