Responsibilities

  • Design and standardise camera layouts including height, angle, field of view, and overlap for AVI units
  • Configure camera parameters such as exposure, gain, shutter, focus, and frame rate
  • Support new site deployments, upgrades, and on-site troubleshooting of imaging issues
  • Identify and resolve problems caused by glare, shadows, reflections, vibration, or environmental factors
  • Work closely with AI and ML teams to diagnose image-related performance issues
  • Define and maintain version-controlled 'known good' camera configurations
  • Produce clear site documentation including diagrams, photos, and configuration notes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of installation standards and rollout playbooks

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with camera systems, CCTV, machine vision, or imaging hardware
  • Strong understanding of optics, lighting, angles, and image quality fundamentals
  • Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting cameras in real-world environments
  • Comfortable working on-site within industrial, depot, or workshop settings
  • Ability to clearly document technical setups

Desirable experience includes:

  • Exposure to computer vision or AI-powered imaging systems
  • Familiarity with AVI, ANPR, or vehicle inspection environments
  • Understanding of how image quality impacts ML model performance
  • Experience with platforms such as Basler, Hikvision, or Axis
  • Basic networking knowledge including IP cameras, PoE, and switches
