Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Caerphilly (travel to sites in the region)
Salary: Up to £36,000
My client is a well-known retailer, looking to bring a Desktop Support Engineer in to support a number of sites across the area. Working in a hands-on environment across the group, they are looking to bring in an experienced Support Engineer who has experience operating as a 2nd line engineer.
Desktop Support Engineer Responsibilities
- Supporting with technical implementation, while providing continuous support of technical, client-side environments.
- Maintenance of support software, as well as maintaining cloud services and associated hardware.
- Managing tickets and escalating incidents in line with SLA and ITIL-aligned processes.
- Support desktop OS performance and endpoint security.
- Composing and maintaining technical documentation and specifications.
Desktop Support Engineer Requirements
- Proven experience as a 2nd Line Engineer or higher, managing tickets and escalating incidents.
- Strong understanding of a modern Microsoft 365 environment, as well as Intune, Entra and endpoint management.
- Experience with application packaging, deployment, MDM and ticketing systems.
- A drivers license is mandatory for this position, due to the field-oriented nature of the role.
