Senior Analytics Engineer/Data Modeller Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain analytical and AI-ready data marts sourced from the enterprise data lakehouse.
  • Develop semantic models and dimensional structures optimised for BI, dashboarding, and machine learning.
  • Ensure documentation, governance, and data consistency across domains.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to support robust ETL/ELT pipelines and maintain end-to-end data lineage.
  • Deploy analytics engineering solutions using dbt, SQL transformations, and CI/CD best practice.
  • Partner with analysts and data scientists to deliver performant and reliable datasets.
  • Implement data quality monitoring, validation processes, and performance optimisation.
  • Support AI initiatives by designing AI marts, feature engineering structures, and ML-ready datasets.
  • Contribute to standardised KPIs, metadata, and a single source of truth for reporting.
  • Work with business teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, high-impact models.
  • Support agile delivery of data products and continuous improvement of modelling standards.

Senior Analytics Engineer/Data Modeller Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Modeller, or similar position in a modern cloud-based data environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Deep understanding of Data Vault, Kimball, and dimensional modelling techniques.
  • Experience designing data marts and semantic layers for BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Familiarity with analytics engineering tools including dbt, Airflow, and Git for version control.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and data quality.

Desirable: Exposure to AI/ML data preparation, Python or Spark, Data Vault 2.0, data governance, GDPR, and experience working in mobility, logistics, financial services, or tech-enabled environments.
