Location - Hybrid - Leeds (2 days per week onsite)

Salary - £60,000 - £80,000 + Benefits

Senior Cloud Engineer Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform
  • Support CI/CD processes using platforms like Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Design solutions that bridge traditional infrastructure and modern DevOps practices
  • Develop tooling and automation using Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar languages
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and delivery teams to ensure smooth deployment and operations
  • Contribute to container orchestration solutions using Kubernetes or ECS
  • Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and provide expert input on cloud architecture decisions
  • Identify and resolve infrastructure issues using a systematic debugging approach
  • Maintain high standards of cloud security, compliance and documentation

Senior Cloud Engineer Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a cloud engineering or DevOps role, ideally in consultancy or fast-paced environments
  • Deep understanding of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Competence in a modern programming language such as Python, Go or JavaScript
  • Strong grasp of networking, cloud security and distributed system architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms
  • Ability to work in agile teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity in delivery environments
