Software Engineer
Software Engineer – Platform / Core Infrastructure
London
4 days a week on site
Up to £110k
We’re working with a London-based fintech that has scaled rapidly in a short space of time. Their platform now processes billions in annual transaction volume, operating across multiple markets and supporting a fast-growing customer base.
With that growth comes complexity - and that’s where this role sits.
The opportunity
This is a role in the Core Infrastructure (Platform) team - the group responsible for how engineering happens across the business.
You won’t be building end-user features. You’ll be building the systems, tooling, and infrastructure that every engineering team relies on to ship safely, quickly, and at scale.
The team treats infrastructure as a product. Internal engineers are the users. Adoption, usability, and reliability matter.
What you’ll actually be doing
- Building a self-service internal platform used across multiple teams
- Reducing friction in the software lifecycle - from local dev → deploy → production
- Improving developer experience (DevEx) by simplifying workflows and abstractions
- Developing cloud-native tooling and platform services
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based delivery models
- Designing for scale, reliability, and security by default
- Working directly with engineers to understand bottlenecks and remove them
Tech environment
- Golang
- Kubernetes (production-scale)
- AWS (multi-account environment)
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD pipelines + GitOps workflows
What they’re looking for
- Background in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps or SRE
- Some experience with Golang
- Experience working in cloud-native environments (AWS or GCP)
- Hands-on with Kubernetes and containerised systems
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Interest in developer tooling, platform thinking, and DevEx
The reality
This isn’t a pure DevOps support role.
It’s building the platform layer properly - with product thinking, long-term ownership, and a focus on making engineers faster.
