On-site Service Desk Engineer – Orpington - £30,000 to £35,000 per year – On-site
FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a leading Managed Service Provider to assist with their recruitment of a Service Desk Engineer to join their team in Orpington.
The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive approach to IT support. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery across customer sites.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide on-site technical support to customers via in-person requests, phone, email, and ticketing systems
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues
- Support users with IT equipment, providing guidance and training where required
- Escalate more complex technical issues to senior engineers when appropriate
- Coordinate external technical support where issues cannot be resolved remotely or in-house
- Maintain and support client IT infrastructure, ensuring systems meet performance and compliance standards
- Install and configure new hardware, software, and IT systems
- Create and maintain technical documentation for new issues and resolutions
- Produce reports and accurately log time and activities within ConnectWise
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support when required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar IT support or Managed Services role
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and networking principles
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Experience using remote support tools and IT ticketing systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between client sites
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are desirable but not essential.
