Solution Architect - Azure/APIs/Integration

£80k - £95k | London - Hybrid (2 days per week)

We are working with a leading international professional services organisation that is investing significantly in its technology and architecture capability.

They are looking for a Solution Architect to join a growing architecture function and play a key role in designing modern, scalable solutions across a complex enterprise application estate.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who may have 2-5 years' Solution Architecture experience , or a strong technical design/development background and has already started moving into architecture. You'll work directly with experienced architects while taking ownership of end-to-end solution design across a broad range of technology projects.

The role

You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineering teams and third-party suppliers to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing end-to-end solutions across a complex enterprise application environment.
• Producing HLDs, LLDs, integration specifications and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Designing APIs, messaging and integration patterns between enterprise applications.
• Working with Azure technologies including App Services, Functions, Service Bus and API Management (APIM).
• Defining data flows and non-functional requirements covering security, performance, scalability and resilience.
• Supporting architecture reviews and presenting designs through technical governance.
• Evaluating third-party/COTS products and supporting build vs buy decisions.
• Working hands-on with engineering and delivery teams through implementation.
• Supporting POCs and technical spikes for new technologies and approaches.
• Working alongside senior architects and helping develop consistent architecture standards and best practices.

What we're looking for

You don't need to tick every box, but we're particularly interested in candidates with:

• 2+ years' experience in Solution Architecture, technical design or a senior development/engineering role.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application integration.
• Experience designing REST APIs, messaging and event-driven integration patterns.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, ideally including Functions, Service Bus and APIM.
• Experience producing HLDs, LLDs and technical architecture documentation.
• Understanding of security, data protection and non-functional requirements.
• Experience working with SQL/data integration and modern DevOps/CI/CD approaches.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience within professional services, financial services, legal, insurance or another regulated enterprise environment would be advantageous.
• TOGAF, Azure architecture certifications or experience with tools such as Ardoq/LeanIX would be useful but are not essential.
