Head of Finance Systems (Contract), Aderant

I am recruiting the Head of Finance Systems for a large, international law firm based in Central London on a contract basis.

You will be responsible for running all finance systems, and the project management of system configuration changes and enhancements on behalf of the Finance team and Finance Product Owner. Ensuring the smooth running and end delivery of the core finance system (Aderant), including trouble shooting and solution support.

Responsibilities:

• Own the development of Aderant and its future road map. Working with Finance and Technology teams to develop systems and infrastructure. Ensuring the systems infrastructure is fit for purpose both now and when taking account of strategic growth and diversification of the firm.
• Working efficiently and effectively with the senior finance leadership team (including CFO), acting as ‘bridge’ between Finance and Technology teams.
• Lead and develop a Finance Systems team of 7 people, helping them to improve and deliver the highest level of service to Finance and the wider business.
• Proactively identify opportunities to make enhancements and improvements to Aderant and the other finance systems. Improving the reporting and data analytics capability to increase efficiency and productivity across Finance.
• Engage in multiple cross-departmental finance system improvement projects. Requirement gathering through engagement with key stakeholders, translating complex business requirements and processes into financial system changes. Preparing financial process and dataflow documentation.
• Step in, take ownership and resolve issues when things don’t go to plan.

Your skills and experience:

• Significant Finance Systems leadership experience, which must include some exposure to Aderant along with a wider financial technology stack.
• Stakeholder management, possessing the gravitas, interpersonal and communication skills to be effective in the management of senor finance stakeholders when in a client facing capacity.
• Team leadership, demonstrable experience in managing, motivating and leading a small Finance Systems team.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
• Exposure to a product operating model (POM) methodology would be advantageous.
• Inquisitive, curious and above all a problem solver.
• Available at short notice.

My client operate a hybrid working model, you will need to be in the Central London office 2-3 days per week.
