Senior Business Analyst

Business Analyst (SFIA 5) – Engineering & Technical Delivery | Leeds or Newcastle (Hybrid)

Futureheads have partnered with a client to find an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a newly formed team responsible for delivering key strategic initiatives across a complex software engineering environment.

This is a hands-on technical BA role sitting at the intersection of engineering strategy and feature delivery. You will be working closely with lead engineers, architects and DevOps teams to define, document and drive requirements that enable platform-level engineering work. This is not a traditional BA role. The customers are engineers and the work is deeply technical.

The day rate is £467pd inside IR35 and candidates must be based within 90 minutes door to door of Leeds or Newcastle city centre. The client is looking to move quickly and the role is available for an immediate start.

What you'll be doing:

• Facilitating technical discussions to ensure the right design solutions are identified and agreed
• Eliciting and mapping requirements across multiple engineering workstreams, ensuring they meet the definition of ready before development begins
• Writing technical user stories and documenting key components that support feature delivery teams
• Working alongside the engineering strategy team to identify shared capabilities and technical enablers
• Supporting discovery, proof of concept and ideation activity including scoping, risk identification and value realisation planning
• Engaging a wide range of technical stakeholders including lead engineers, architects, data engineers and security teams to establish requirements and priorities

About you:

• Strong technical background with proven applied experience working within software development environments
• Able to understand and challenge technical and technology requirements quickly while maintaining strong working relationships
• Experienced in engineering requirements rather than traditional business analysis
• Comfortable supporting multiple teams and workstreams simultaneously across different technical contexts
• Proven ability to work under broad direction with accountability for delivering significant outcomes from analysis through to evaluation
• Based within 90 minutes door to door of Leeds or Newcastle
