We’re recruiting for a leading UK tech consultancy who are hiring for a Lead Service Designer to join them to lead their service design community of practice, as well as working with a key public sector end-client, leading a team across work-streams. To be considered for these opportunities, candidates must have worked on projects or with clients within UK public sector projects and must be UK based with full right to work.
The role:
Leading service design
- Lead and grow the service design community, sharing good practice and supporting designers’ development.
- Work with the Head of Design Strategy to align design efforts and onboard new team members.
- Help set direction for user-centred design across projects and identify opportunities for shared patterns or approaches.
Strategic work across the programme
- Collaborate with UCD leads to define goals, frameworks and tools that benefit the whole programme.
- Use insight from the wider organisation to influence how digital teams improve service delivery.
Within product teams
- Turn policy ideas into design briefs and map how current services work.
- Partner with researchers, analysts and PMs to plan discovery, define hypotheses and measure outcomes.
- Bring together insights from user research and business analysis to redesign services and define digital requirements.
- Support design decisions through alpha and beta to keep delivery user-focused.
Programme and account support
- Help plan resourcing and assess potential hires.
- Keep product and delivery leads updated on key developments and strategic priorities.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to influence design thinking and programme direction.
