FIELD INSTALLATION ENGINEER

Our client in the Telecommunications sector is looking for a Field Installation Engineer to join their growing team. This role will involve travelling across the UK to install, configure, and maintain telephone systems and related equipment for customers. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, technically competent, and able to work independently while representing the company in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and test business phone systems at customer sites.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of telecommunication systems.
  • Ensure installations meet company and industry standards for quality and safety.
  • Train customers on system usage and provide aftercare support as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service visits, and customer interactions.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects and services.
  • Cover customer sites across the UK.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a telecoms/phone installation engineer (field-based role preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP, PBX systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Basic networking skills (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Full UK driving license (essential).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
