Manufacturing Futures are supporting an automation-focused engineering business in their search for a Controls Engineer. This role is well suited to an Electrical or Electronic Engineering graduate, or an early-career Controls Engineer, looking to develop a long-term career within industrial automation and control systems.

As a Controls Engineer, you will join a supportive and technically strong team with an excellent reputation for training and development. The successful Controls Engineer will work on a range of standard and bespoke automated systems, gaining exposure to electrical design, control systems and project delivery under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Controls Engineer – Role & Responsibilities – Automation / Electrical / Controls

  • Design electrical and electronic control systems for automated machinery
  • Produce electrical schematics and system drawings using CAD software
  • Support PLC, HMI and automation programming activities
  • Create BOMs and supporting technical documentation
  • Work on assigned projects with guidance from a senior engineer or mentor
  • Assist with technical queries and problem-solving within the engineering team
  • Investigate and evaluate new automation technologies

Controls Engineer – Skills & Experience – Automation / Electrical / Controls

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Experience or exposure to PLCs and control systems
  • Proficient with electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar
  • Previous experience in a Controls Engineer or automation-related role
  • Strong desire to learn and develop within electrical and automation engineering
  • UK Driving Licence
