Technology Operations Lead

We're seeking an experienced Technology Operations Lead to oversee and develop our client's technology environment, ensuring systems, infrastructure, and support services enable the business to operate efficiently and securely. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, third-party vendors, and internal teams to drive continuous improvement across IT operations while delivering a high-quality service to end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of technology services across the organisation.
  • Manage and develop IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, and business systems.
  • Oversee the service desk function, ensuring incidents and service requests are resolved within agreed service levels.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Manage relationships with external technology suppliers and service providers.
  • Plan and deliver technology projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices, data protection requirements, and business continuity plans.
  • Manage IT budgets, software licensing, and technology asset lifecycles.
  • Produce regular operational reports and communicate technology performance to senior stakeholders.
  • Support business growth by identifying technology solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Mentor and develop technical team members where applicable.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing IT operations or technology services.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, networking, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with IT service management principles and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, backup strategies, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and technology partners.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Budget management and resource planning experience.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach to technology support.

Desirable Experience

  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure, AWS, or Cisco certifications.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, or business-critical applications.
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, or GDPR.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
