Senior Full-Stack Engineer - 12 Months FTC - Retail

We’re working with a well-established retail business currently undergoing a major internal transformation programme, and they’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join on a 12-month FTC with a possibility of joining on a permanent basis once the contract is finished.

The business has been operating successfully for over 10 years and combines the stability of an established company with the pace and culture of a start-up environment. Decisions happen quickly, there’s very little hierarchy, and engineers are trusted to own delivery and make a tangible impact.

This role will focus heavily on building modern internal applications and operational tooling that support large-scale scheduling, fulfilment, logistics, optimisation and customer service functions across the business.

The Role

You'll play a key role in developing modern React-based internal applications alongside supporting .NET backend services, helping replace legacy workflows with scalable, API-first systems.

The work is highly delivery-focused and suited to someone who enjoys solving real operational challenges through clean, pragmatic engineering. You will need some experience delivering solutions within retail, eCommerce, supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management environments.

Key Experience

• Strong experience building modern applications with React and TypeScript
• Solid backend development experience using .NET / C#
• Experience building scalable APIs, operational platforms and internal business systems
• Experience working on retail, eCommerce, logistics, fulfilment, warehouse management or supply chain platforms
• Comfortable working closely with Product, Operations and business stakeholders
• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, performance and scalability
• Experience supporting scheduling, inventory, order management or operational workflow systems would be beneficial
• Shopify experience would be a major bonus
