Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation Engineer Defence Technology | Real-Time Systems | Complex Integration This Simulation Engineer (Hardware-in-the-Loop hands-on role in cutting-edge defence tech, The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) team is central to testing and developing next-gen missile systems using real hardware and high-fidelity simulations to fine-tune performance, validate capability, and reduce risk ahead of live trials. You’ll be working in a high-tech simulation environment, running complex, real-time scenarios that connect directly to missile hardware, giving engineers critical insight before anything hits the range.Day to day role:
- Designing and developing real-time simulation environments
- Writing software ‘plug-ins’ to enhance simulation capability
- Working with missile hardware and analysing how it performs in flight-like conditions
- Using Linux and programming in C/C++
- Collaborating with systems engineers, analysts and other specialists
- Diving into system behaviour, performance metrics and integration challenges
- Experience designing or working with real-time software
- Solid C/C++ skills and Linux knowledge
