Software Development Leader

Software Development Team Leader – Embedded Systems Stevenage I’m working with a leading defence technology organisation looking for a Software Development Team Leader to support the delivery of on-board software (C, C++ and/or Ada) for next-generation missile systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong software development background (C, C++ and/or Ada) who has moved into team leadership, or a senior developer ready to step into a leadership role while still staying close to the technology. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of embedded software engineers (C, C++ and/or Ada), ensuring software is delivered on time, on budget and to the required quality standards, while providing technical guidance and oversight across the development lifecycle. What they’re looking for:

• Experience leading or mentoring software developers
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Some project planning or delivery experience
• Ability to communicate progress, risks and delivery updates
• Experience with UML and embedded development
• Knowledge of C, C++ and/or Ada
