This Commercial Lawyer opportunity is to work at a market-leading commercial technology team who are at the forefront of digital transformation. It’s a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive group working on high-quality, complex matters across IP, IT, data protection and emerging technologies such as AI and fintech. Where you will gain exposure to some of the most interesting and high-profile work in the market.
The team advises a wide range of clients, from major blue-chip organisations through to innovative SMEs, universities and research institutions.
The role
This is a broad and varied position where you can expect to be involved in:
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
- Advising on IP matters: development, protection and exploitation
- Supporting institutions on complex licensing and technology transfer agreements
- Working on life sciences and healthcare-related projects
- High-value IT and telecoms projects
- Advising on data protection and GDPR compliance projects for technology-driven businesses
- Exposure to developing areas such as fintech, blockchain, robotics and artificial intelligence
The team is active in both UK and international work, with opportunities to collaborate across offices and get involved in cross-border matters.
About you
- Qualified Solicitor 4+ years’ PQE (flexible) with strong experience in IP, IT, technology, data protection and general commercial law
- Confidence in handling client relationships and running matters end-to-end
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to turn complex legal issues into clear, practical advice
- Good analytical skills
- A proactive, client-facing approach with sound judgement and strong interpersonal skills
- An interest in contributing to business development and marketing activities
