A specialist private client practice in Knutsford is looking for a Private Client Solicitor to join its growing team.
This is an opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor who wants to move beyond routine wills and probate and develop their expertise across trusts, tax and complex estate planning.
The role offers a genuinely varied caseload, national clients and the opportunity to work alongside an established estate administration team within a wider international financial services group.
The Role
Private Client Solicitor to advise on a broad range of non-contentious private client matters, including:
- Complex wills and estate planning
- Estate administration and probate
- Lifetime estate and tax planning
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Trusts arising from wills
- Trustee appointments and changes
- Post-death planning
- Technical research
- Affidavits and domicile matters
The role also involves supervising and supporting non-solicitor colleagues who deal with probate and will drafting, providing an opportunity to take on responsibility beyond an individual caseload.
There is no Court of Protection work or litigation involved.
What This Firm is Looking For
You will have a strong technical interest in trusts and tax, alongside experience in private client work.
A STEP qualification would be advantageous, but it is not essential. The firm is equally open to a more junior solicitor who demonstrates the right technical aptitude, enthusiasm and willingness to develop.
This could suit someone who enjoys the technical side of private client work but also values meaningful client contact and collaborative working.
Candidates whose experience is predominantly routine wills and probate may find the role less aligned with their current expertise.

Location

The firm is looking for someone who is comfortable with a hybrid model.

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor who wants to build on their existing experience and become more technically focused in trusts, tax and estate planning.
The legal practice is still relatively young and has plans for further growth, offering the successful candidate the chance to join at an exciting stage of its development. While a formal promotion pathway cannot currently be guaranteed, there is scope to develop technically and take on increasing responsibility as the practice grows.
