Technology plays a key role in enabling the business to scale, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the customer experience. The Enterprise Architect will play a critical role in defining and guiding the architecture strategy that supports this transformation.

Role Purpose

The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining and governing the overall technology architecture strategy across the organisation.

This role will ensure that technology platforms, systems, data architecture, and infrastructure capabilities align with the organisation’s business strategy, digital ambitions, and product-led operating model.

Working closely with the CTO, engineering teams, infrastructure, and business stakeholders, the Enterprise Architect will provide strategic architectural leadership, guiding technology decisions and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and future-ready.

Architecture Strategy & Vision

  • Define and maintain the organisation’s Enterprise Architecture strategy and roadmap.
  • Ensure technology investments align with business objectives and digital transformation goals.
  • Develop and maintain architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Establish a target-state architecture to support the evolution of the organisation’s digital platforms.

Architecture Governance

  • Provide architectural oversight for major technology initiatives and programmes.
  • Review and approve solution architectures to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Establish architecture review boards and governance processes.
  • Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, scalability, resilience, and performance.

Technology & Platform Architecture

  • Define architecture patterns across key platforms including:
  • Cloud and infrastructure
  • Enterprise applications
  • Support the modernisation and optimisation of core Integration and APIs
  • Data and analytics platforms
  • Guide the evolution of the organisation’s cloud-first architecture strategy.
  • enterprise systems.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with the CTO, engineering leads, infrastructure teams, and product leaders.
  • Translate complex architecture concepts into clear strategic guidance for business stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and architectural leadership to solution architects and technical teams.

Technology Evaluation & Innovation

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, capability, and customer outcomes.
  • Ensure the organisation’s technology landscape remains modern, integrated, and sustainable.
  • Support the development of a product-oriented technology ecosystem.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Lead Architect, or Principal Architect within a complex organisation.
  • Experience defining and delivering enterprise architecture strategy and roadmaps.
  • Strong experience with cloud architecture, particularly Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Experience working with enterprise platforms, ERP systems, and data platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology architecture with business strategy.
  • Strong experience in architecture governance, frameworks, and standards.
  • Ability to influence and engage with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of:

  • Cloud architecture (Azure)
  • Enterprise application architecture
  • Integration architecture and APIs
  • Data platforms and analytics architectures
  • Infrastructure and network architecture
  • Security architecture principles

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with product-led technology organisations.
  • Knowledge of ERP environments such as Infor ERP.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Experience in industries with operational, logistics, or asset-heavy environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation programmes.

Qualifications & Certifications

Desirable certifications may include:

  • TOGAF
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Cloud architecture certifications
  • Architecture or IT strategy qualifications
