🚨 Senior Platform Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes

💰 £80–90k | 📍 Hybrid (Manchester – typically 1 day/week or month, flexible)

We’re working with a scaling tech business looking to hire a Senior Platform Engineer to play a key role in shaping and delivering their cloud platform.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role with real ownership — combining deep technical engineering with leadership, mentoring, and platform strategy influence.

🔍 The Role

You’ll be a senior technical leader within the platform team, driving complex infrastructure and platform initiatives across Azure and Kubernetes. Alongside building and automating systems, you’ll help raise engineering standards, mentor others, and improve reliability, security, and developer experience at scale.

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and deliver scalable infrastructure in Azure & AKS
• Own and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Crossplane)
• Build and enhance internal developer platforms and “golden paths”
• Architect and optimise CI/CD pipelines and release strategies
• Embed security, compliance, and observability into platform workflows
• Lead incident reviews, reliability improvements, and SRE practices
• Mentor engineers and lead technical direction across teams

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in cloud-native environments (Azure)
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes (AKS)
• Proven track record delivering complex platform/infrastructure projects
• Advanced CI/CD knowledge (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Solid understanding of observability, SLOs, and reliability engineering
• Strong coding/scripting skills (Golang, Python, Bash)
• Passion for mentoring and raising engineering standards
