Senior AWS Platform Engineer |Data Scale up | £70–90k | Hybrid Leeds

G.Digital is back working with one of our favourite partners in the Yorkshire area who are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join an exciting team heading up all things around IAC and EKS.

This is a hands-on role where you'll dig into the cloud estate, uncover inefficiencies, and drive meaningful cost reductions across the platforms. You'll shape the FinOps strategy, automate smarter ways of working, and build the insights that help engineering teams make better decisions in real time.

What you'll do

Identify cost-saving opportunities across AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), pipelines & developer tooling

Build dashboards, alerts, and automation to give teams real-time visibility

Optimise resource usage and improve efficiency across our platform

Take ownership of FinOps responsibilities and cost insights

Present clear data-driven recommendations to stakeholders

Support platform & pipeline engineering with a strong cost-first mindset

What we're looking for

Solid AWS engineering background with proven cost optimisation success

Strong understanding of Kubernetes/EKS and IaC with Terraform

Experience with AWS cost tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, CUR, Anomaly Detection)

Comfortable using DataDog or similar observability platforms

Analytical, proactive, and confident influencing teams and leaders

FinOps / Kubernetes certifications a bonus
